Ko.” Reader discretion is advised.
While the “ Oshi no Ko ” manga has
come to a heartwarming end, fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming
months. In addition to the anime’s long-awaited third
season, a new light novel titled “Futari no Etude” has been confirmed for
release , which will delve deeper into the relationship between two of
the series’ most important supporting characters: Kana Arima and Akane
Kurokawa. According to the official description, this novel will serve
as an epilogue to the manga and will address both the actresses’ childhood and
their relationship following the tragic events at the end of the story:
- Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa were performing an improvisation as
part of rehearsals for the co-starring play they will be appearing in next
month. It’s been a while since the film “15 Years of Lies ,” and
both have achieved the status of talented young actresses recognized for
their skill. However, their relationship remains as contentious as ever.
As a result, what should have been a rehearsal quickly turned into an
exchange of insults.
- Despite their worries about the future of the play, they suddenly
remember an audition for a certain play that they both faced
together in the past. That event was the starting point that marked their
relationship and led them to the present. This is the second volume of the
novel that explores the past and future of Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa!
Kana and Akane were rivals on stage and in love, both
vying for the attention of Aqua Hoshino, one of the main characters. While
Kana is characterized by being direct and explosive, Akane is more reserved and
calculating, which created a dynamic full of tensions and misunderstandings
throughout the manga. Although the last chapters of “Oshi no Ko”
suggest that the two managed to put their differences behind them and become
friends, Futari no Etude explores how these two talented actresses are still
working to build a stronger and more authentic relationship.
The novel is set after the final events of the manga,
in which Aqua sacrifices her life to confront her father and mother's killer,
Hikaru Kamiki. Her death left a deep mark on all the characters,
especially Kana and Akane. Kana, devastated by her failure to confess her
feelings for Aqua, staged an emotional scene at her funeral, while Akane dealt
with her grief more introspectively. Despite their differences, the
two are seen together supporting Aqua's sister Ruby on her return to the stage
in the final chapter of the manga. However, Futari no Etude confirms that their
relationship still needs work.
This epilogue promises to give fans the emotional
closure that was missing from the manga, delving deeper into the development of
these two actresses and cementing them as friends, now that they are no longer
competing for Aqua. “Futari no Etude” is not only a chance to relive
the charm of this series, but also to explore one of the most complex and
emotional relationships in the manga. It will undoubtedly be a must-watch for
fans looking for more of this dark and fascinating world.
