In recent weeks you have surely witnessed a meme titled
“ Anatomy of a Gamer ”,
which is an image made by the artist “ Orenji (@wholesomeorenji) ”
that became a trend due to its obvious references to lolis.
Let us remember that “lolicon” refers to those
who enjoy consuming content starring lolis (of whatever
content and nature), but the community in general does not look
favorably on this type of people , especially because they consider
that the line that separates lolis/shotas of minors in real life is quite
diffuse, which is why they treat lolicons as “potential pedophiles.”
And what is the controversial “Anatomy of a
Gamer” meme about? It turns out that “Orenji” drew an
infographic showing the aspects that most characterize a gamer (that is, a
video game fan):
- In
his drawing he highlights a variety of details such as “ listening
to video game music ”, “ a backpack full of Doritos ”,
“ Nintendo Switch controls in his pants pockets ” and
“ a gamer-themed t-shirt ”. However, the detail that made
this image go viral is that a girl appears next to her with an arrow that
says “ an underage girlfriend .”
Evidently the last point was what made the meme
popular and also inspired a large number of variations on some other
franchises. Unfortunately, many did not tolerate this
type of expression (which was evidently sarcasm on the part of the author, just
to make his followers laugh), and immediately began to report the publication.
The pressure was such that the post was
eventually deleted and “Orenji (@wholesomeorenji)” eventually disappeared from
Twitter as a result.
Internet users regretted that things ended this way, as
reflected in the comments:
