Through a press release, Warner Bros. Japan
announced the production of a sequel film for the “ Batman Ninja ”
franchise . This new installment in CG animation will be titled “ Batman
Ninja vs. Yakuza League ,” but the statement did not indicate a
scheduled premiere date.
Considering that this is a DC Comics franchise, then
it is evident that more details will be revealed during the Warner
Bros. Japan panel on July 4 at the Anime Expo convention .
For its part, the original “ Batman Ninja ”
is an animated film directed by Junpei Mizusaki at the Kamikaze Douga and YamatoWorks studios
, released in May 2018. Curiously, there are two versions, since the United
States version had Leo Chu and Eric García changing Kazuki Nakashima's scripts
from the original Japanese version, thus creating two different
versions of the same film.
Synopsis of Batman Ninja
At Arkham Asylum, Batman confronts
Gorilla Grodd as he attempts to destroy Grodd's new invention: the Quake
Engine. In the midst of the chaos, the engine activates and the entire asylum
vanishes into thin air, and Batman with it. When the dust settles, Batman finds
himself in the middle of an unknown highway. He soon realizes that he is no
longer in Gotham City, but in feudal Japan. The amazement quickly fades when
some samurai descend on him to end his life. Later, Batman's investigation
leads him to discover that the person responsible for the kill order is none
other than his archenemy, the Joker.
After an encounter with Catwoman, he
learns that the criminals from the asylum had teleported there two years
earlier, each ruling a part of Japan, with Joker being the dominant leader. To
return home, Batman must reactivate the Quake Engine, located in the remains of
the asylum, now known as Arkham Castle. However, there's a problem: aside from
his gadget belt, the arsenal that was once within his reach has virtually
disappeared. Batman Ninja follows the Dark Knight through a strange new
environment, facing off against familiar enemies in an attempt to return to
Gotham in one piece.
