Leaks in the upcoming issue of Weekly Young
Jump magazine reported that the manga written by Aka Akasaka and
illustrated by 5mm Nishizawa , “ Renai Daikou ( Love
Agency ),” has reached its conclusion. This then confirms that this
work by the creator of “ Kaguya-sama: Love is War ” and
“ Oshi no Ko ” ends just one year after it began.
The news was received in an insipid way by the
followers of the work, who already predicted that the story had nothing more to
offer:
- " I'm
not surprised. It wasn't a bad manga, but it didn't have anything special
either, and I feel like the characters were much flatter than those in
Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Oshi no Ko. I imagine it didn't gain as much
notoriety as those series . It's sad because the illustrator did a very
good job .
- « It
doesn't particularly surprise me, this series hasn't been horrible but it
hasn't done anything to establish itself as special in almost 40 episodes.
I just hope that now that he has fewer distractions, the quality of Oshi
no Ko's writing goes back to what it was before Renai Daikou started .
- « Yes,
I heard that the series was good too, but even I am surprised that it
ended so soon. Anyway, I hope this means that Oshi no Ko will be decent
again, because… I couldn't help but notice that the quality of the series
was declining while Renai Daikou was being created . »
- « Shueisha
(in all likelihood) canceling a really good series by Aka and Nishizawa,
but keeping a certain abomination from China's Warring States period in
Young Jump is so Shueisha. After all, corporatists treat their things as
consumer goods .
- « Unexpected,
but that's how things are handled now .»
- « Wow,
were the sales on this one that bad? If so, it's a real shame. Although
it's nowhere near as funny as Kaguya-sama, I liked some of the jokes and
some of the characters. The art is also quite nice. Honestly, I would
prefer if they removed Oshi no Ko ».
- « I
read the first chapter when it came out and that's it, I think the premise
was a little interesting but not enough to continue reading it .»
- « The
guy is fucking finished, Oshi no Ko is garbage and this one is going to be
canceled if it continues like this. He got too carried away by the success
of Kaguya-sama: Love is War .
- « I
don't think Renai Daikou was canceled by Young Jump's general criteria.
Looking at the numbers, I think it has been considered whether it was
better to keep Akasaka in a manga with mediocre sales or try your luck
with a new one. That being said, Renai Daikou's marketing was SHAMEFUL .'
For its part, Aka Akasaka began
publishing the manga through Shueisha 's Young
Jump magazine in April 2023, with art by 5mm Nishizawa .
The author is recognized for other works such as “ Kaguya-sama: Love is
War ” and “ Oshi no Ko ”, the second of which was
published at the same time as this one.
Synopsis of Renai Daikou
Mari Maria Winter Nanase, half Japanese,
half Swedish, has it all in life. She has been raised in a wealthy family in
Scandinavia and America, she is popular with girls and has a good physique.
However, she is missing one thing: she doesn't know how to talk to boys! After
picking up a book about love at the library, she finds a suspicious
advertisement on the back cover. The ad was for Love Agency, a service that
promised that a “love professional” would take care of your love for you. When
she scans him, an agent named "Kon-chan" appears who promises to help
her fall in love with her love. However, her crush, Masaya Seki, is not so
innocent either and also uses this app to flirt with her. How will this pair of
hopeless lovers end?
