Tower of God finally sets a date for its return

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the webtoon written and illustrated by SIU , “ Tower of God ,” a new promotional video for the second season of the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for July 7 in Japan , and shows a snippet of the opening theme titled “ RISE UP ” and performed by NiziU .

It should be remembered that a previous leak already confirmed that this second season will last two parts (i.e. six semesters of broadcast). Although there is no confirmation, it makes sense when considering that it will adapt the “ Prince's Return Arc ” and the “ Factory Battle Arc ”, which occur many years after the beginning of the story.

On the other hand, SIU has been publishing the webtoon “ Tower of God ” through the Naver Webtoon service since 2010. The work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Telecom Animation Film studios, under the direction of Takashi Sano and scripts written by Erika Yoshida , released in April 2020. The original work has entered multiple suspensions due to constant physical exhaustion of the author.

Sinopsis of Tower of God

There is a tower that summons chosen people called “Regulars” with the promise of granting their deepest desires. Be it wealth, fame, authority, or something beyond them all, it all awaits those who reach the top. Bam is a boy who had only known a dark cave, a dirty cloth, and an unattainable light his entire life. Then, when a girl named Rachel approached him through the light, his entire world changed.

Becoming close friends with Rachel, he learned from her a number of things about the outside world. But when Rachel says he must leave him to climb the Tower, his world shatters around him. Vowing to follow her no matter what the cost, he sets his sights on the Tower and a miracle occurs. Thus begins the journey of Bam, a young boy who was not chosen by the Tower, but opened its doors on his own. They call his kind the “Irregulars,” beings who have shaken the foundations of the Tower every time they set foot inside it.
