A press
release from NBCUniversal reported that Masakuni Igarashi 's
manga " Mayonaka Heart Tune ( Tune In to the
Midnight Heart )" will get an anime adaptation that will
premiere sometime in 2026 in Japan. The release did not reveal
production details or a scheduled premiere date.
The release also included a comment from the author:
" Since the planning phase, I always thought that this work,
whose main theme is 'voice,' would only be truly complete once it was adapted
and the characters had their own voices. I hope the anime will
be able to convey the charm of their voices, something that can't be fully
expressed in the manga. I'm excited to see what Apollo's voice will be like! "
For his part, Masakuni Igarashi began
publishing the manga through Kodansha 's Weekly Shonen
Magazine in September 2023. Previously, the author wrote other works
such as " Senryuu Shoujo " and " Mattaku
Saikin no Tantei to Kitara ", with the first inspiring an anime
in Spring-2019 (April-June) and the second with an anime
adaptation scheduled for this year.
Synopsis of Mayonaka Heart Tune
When Arisu Yamabuki was left alone in bed at night, he
found comfort in the voice of a radio host who called herself
"Apollo." However, one day, she simply stopped broadcasting without
any explanation. Years have passed, and Arisu is now a second-year high school
student. His mission is to find Apollo, as he has something he wants to tell
him. He doesn't know what she looks like, or even what her real name is, but he
gets some clues about her in his high school's broadcasting club. There, he meets
four girls who dream of getting jobs where they can use their voices. Who is
Apollo, and how will his dreams come true?
