Lycoris Recoil sets a date for its return

We recently told you about the new short film project from " Lycoris Recoil ," titled " Lycoris Recoil: Friends are Thieves of Time ." While a release date hadn't been revealed at the time, we now know that all six episodes of this short film series will arrive on April 16th on Aniplex's official YouTube platform and other streaming services. Additionally, a new episode will be released every Wednesday.


 

As for details, the teaser trailer and titles for the six stories have been revealed , along with information about the team behind each episode. Here's a look at what's in store:


  • Episode 1: "Take It Easy" - Screenplay: Shingo Adachi. Storyboard and Technical Director: Takashi Sakuma.

 


  • Episode 2: "Miles away" - Storyboard script: Imigimuru. Storyboard: Shingo Adachi. Technical Director: Tsuyoshi Tobita.

This project promises to maintain the charm of "Lycoris Recoil" while exploring new stories centered on the beloved characters of the LycoReco Cafe. Meanwhile, details of this franchise include:


  • The anime "Lycoris Recoil" premiered during the Summer 2022 season (July-September) in Japan and ran for a total of thirteen episodes. The series quickly became one of the most successful franchises in the physical retail market, surpassing twenty thousand copies sold with each new release and becoming the series with the highest cumulative sales in the first week of all of 2022.

  • The main cast consists of Chika Anzai (Takina Inoue) and Shion Wakayama (Chisato Nishikigi).

  • The production team includes Shingo Adachi (direction), Muru Imigi (character design), Asaura (original story), Kimika Onai (uniform design), and A-1 Pictures studios .

  • The story centers on a Japan where terrorist acts are minimal thanks to the Direct Attack (DA) organization, a group that raises orphaned girls to become assassins under the "Lycoris" program. Takina Inoue, one of the top Lycoris, is transferred to a disguised cafe called LycoReco after an incident of insubordination.
