About
the universe of 9-nine-
9-Nine- is a visual novel made up of
four interconnected episodes, each focusing on a different heroine, but sharing
the same setting and supernatural background. The story takes place in the city
of Shiromitsugawa, where mysterious artifacts grant special powers
to their users. The plot combines romance, supernatural action, and
mystery, as the protagonists attempt to solve a series of paranormal
murders.
The saga
was developed by Palette between 2017 and 2020 for PC, and
later released in conjunction with an extra episode in 2021. Sekai
Project published the four chapters in English through Steam, and in
June 2022, the game was adapted for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
A new
game is on the way
In addition
to the anime, a spin-off of the franchise in the form of a
game has been announced, which will arrive for PC (compatible
with Windows 10/11) in winter 2025. The new heroine will be played
by the popular seiyuu Aoi Yūki.
