This
Sunday, Bandai Namco Filmworks confirmed that the anime "I
Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!" (A-Rank
Party or Ridatsu Shita Ore wa, Moto Oshiego-tachi to Meikyū Shinbu o Mezasu),
based on the light novels by Kōsuke Unagi, will have a second
season. The news was announced just after the broadcast of episode
24, with which the first part of the anime concluded.
The series
premiered on January 12 (Japan time) on more than 30
channels on NTV's network, with a double broadcast of two cours (two
consecutive quarters). Crunchyroll streams the series in
simulcast and also offers dubbing.
A production with experienced names
The anime
is directed by Katsumi Ono (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Girly
Air Force) under BN Pictures. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Do
It Yourself!!, Dropkick on My Devil! X) supervises and writes
the script. The character design is by Masakazu Yamazaki, who also
shares animation direction with Akira Takahashi, Yumiko
Hara and Ippei Ichii. The action is directed by Akira
Kikuchi and the music was composed by Go Sakabe, known for
his work on the Date A Live franchise.
A story
of redemption, magic, and companionship
The plot
follows Yuke Feldio, a humble red wizard who decides to leave his
arrogant group of A-rank adventurers to form a new team with three of his
former students. Although underestimated by many, Yuke wants to prove that he
can reach the bottom of the most dangerous dungeon in the world and achieve his
dream. In the process, she will not only teach, but also discover hidden
abilities in her new companions... and in itself.
The light
novel debuted in June 2021 under the Kodansha imprint.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Yūri was
released in the same month on the Magazine Pocket app. Kodansha
USA currently distributes the manga digitally in English.
