The
original series Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show continues
to expand its cast with the reveal of four new characters through
individual trailers. The long-awaited production that fuses the world of streamers with cosmic
horror will premiere on July 1 and promises an
experience as surreal as it is intense.
The new
characters: from primal gods to gamers
The first
to be introduced is Hastur, voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu.
Inspired by the ancient god of Lovecraft's universe, this Hastur embodies
a ruthless producer who prioritizes the audience over the
well-being of streamers. His ambition makes him a figure as fascinating as he
is terrifying.
Then
comes Seishiro Sano, played by Atsushi Tamaru. He is a
friendly math teacher and streamer, endowed with a keen sense of perception
that allows him to see beyond appearances. His compassion sets him apart from
the rest of the cast, acting as the conscience of the group.
In third
place we have Eita, voiced by Reiji Kawashima.
This high school student is known for his video game streams
and commentary videos. His cheerful and considerate attitude makes him a
character with strong protagonist energy, suggesting a central role in the
story.
Finally,
the enigmatic Game Master Tick-Tock-Man appears, voiced
by Hiroki Yasumoto. This mysterious knight oversees the virtual
reality game Kadath, whose name refers to the mythical mountain
where the gods dwell in the Mythos of Cthulhu. Their presence
adds an even deeper layer of mystery and mythology to the
series.
A
stellar team behind the virtual horror
The
production is in charge of Studio Gokumi, with Masato
Matsune (Reign of the Seven Spellblades) as director. The script is
written by Makoto Uezu (KONOSUBA), while Jiro Suzuki is
in charge of the original character design. The soundtrack will be composed
by Evan Call, known for his work on Frieren: Beyond
Journey's End.
The
story: beyond the game
The Crunchyroll platform,
which will stream the anime from July 1, describes the story as
follows: "Streamer Miko's life takes an unexpected turn when a
virtual reality game begins to challenge her and her friends with tests as
mysterious as they are dangerous."
With a
unique combination of supernatural elements, cosmic horror and
criticism of the world of streaming, Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror
Show aims to become one of the most original proposals of the season.
