The official website of the anime Yaiba: Samurai Legend (Shin Samurai-den YAIBA), the new adaptation of the manga created by Gōshō Aoyama (Detective Conan), revealed this Friday a new promotional video and an unpublished visual for its second part.

In addition, a compilation video summarizing the events of the first story arc was shared to prepare fans for the new chapter of the story.

A new stage begins this weekend

The second part of the anime will begin this Saturday, June 29, and will do so with a new addition to the cast: Sayaka Senbongi, who will play Nadeshiko Yamato.

In this new phase, the musical section will also be renewed. The group BLUE ENCOUNT will perform the new opening theme titled "Blade Kizuna ver," while Kairi Yagi Denon Yuugi will be in charge of the new closing theme titled "Action!".

A clash of swords and destinies

The story follows Yaiba Kurogane, a young man who trains in the jungle to become a real samurai. After returning to Japan, he begins to live with the Mine family and meets Takeshi Onimaru, a kendo prodigy with whom he begins a fierce rivalry.

Both end up awakening the power of two legendary swords: the Fujinken (Sword of the God of Wind) and the Raijinken (Sword of the God of Thunder).

The series is directed by Takahiro Hasui at Wit Studio, with scripts by Tōko Machida and character design by Yoshimichi Kameda. The music is composed by Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa.

A return that unites past and present

Yaiba's original manga was published between 1988 and 1993 in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, and had already been adapted into a series of 52 episodes broadcast between 1993 and 1994. This new version reimagines the story with modern animation and greater fidelity to the source material.

In addition, Viz Media will release a new edition of the manga starting July 8, starting with the first volume in English.

With the arrival of this second installment, Yaiba: Samurai Legend continues to cement itself as an exciting return of one of Gōshō Aoyama's most beloved works, offering action, comedy and samurai for a new generation of fans.
