The anime
adaptation of the popular light novel The Angel Next Door Spoils Me
Rotten (Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsu no Ma ni ka Dame Ningen
ni Sareteita Ken) has officially confirmed the premiere of its second
season. As revealed in the teaser trailer published on the
project's official website, the new installment will premiere in April
2026, and will arrive with a new production team.
New
hands at the helm of anime's cutest romance
This new
season will be directed by Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke
Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei), who will take over from Li Hua
Wang in the direction. The Project No.9 studio will
continue to be in charge of the animation. The script will once again be in the
hands of Keiichirō Ōchi (Adachi and Shimamura, The
Quintessential Quintuplets), while Takayuki Noguchi will
be responsible for adapting the original character designs made by Hanekoto to
the anime. The music will be provided by Moe Hyūga (Steins;
Gate 0, O Maidens In Your Savage Season).
A
romance that conquered hearts from its first installment
The first
season aired in January 2023 through Tokyo
MX, BS NTV, and AT-X. Crunchyroll simulcast
the series outside of Japan. The story revolves around Amane Fujimiya,
a student who lives alone, and his beautiful neighbor Mahiru Shiina.
A simple gesture in the rain unites them and begins a relationship that slowly
evolves between sweetness and everyday life.
A story
that was born from the web and conquered the paper
Author Saekisan began
publishing this story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform
in December 2018. Subsequently, the publisher SB Creative,
under its GA Bunko imprint, began publication in physical
format with illustrations by Hanekoto in June 2019.
In
addition, the work has a manga adaptation by Suzu Yūki,
which has been published since January 2022 on Square
Enix's Manga UP! platform, a publisher that has also
licensed the series for international distribution.
With a new
creative approach and an established fan base, The Angel Next Door
Spoils Me Rotten promises to continue melting hearts when it returns
in April 2026. The first teaser already anticipates that the
sweetness between Amane and Mahiru will light up the screens again.
