Following
the broadcast of episode 12 of WITCH WATCH in Japan, the
anime's official accounts have unveiled a new trailer and
promotional visual for its second cour, anticipating the return of
its supernatural comedy with more chaos, spells, and romantic entanglements.
Among the
most outstanding novelties is the presentation of two new characters, as well
as the announcement of the new opening and closing themes that
will accompany this second stage of the series.
"Tokihanatsu"
and "Tsuki to Watashi no Kakurenbo": the new songs
The
new opening theme is titled "Tokihanatsu" and
is performed by Hashimelo, known for his work in the third season
of Urusei Yatsura. On the other hand, the ending theme
will be "Tsuki to Watashi no Kakurenbo", an
emotional song by the pop-rock band yutori, recognized for their
participation in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes.
New
characters join the cast
The
second WITCH WATCH cour will also introduce two new characters
that will expand the universe of this quirky magical story:
- Miharu Kiryu, voiced by Yuki Wakai.
- Rui Fujiki, played by Yohei
Azakami.
Both
characters were revealed along with their official designs, generating
expectation among fans for their role in the new episodes.
A
production team with a long history
The anime
is directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For
You) at Bilbury Animation Studios. The series is composed
by Deko Akao (The Case Study of Vanitas), while Haruko
Iizuka (Horimiya) is in charge of character design. The music
is composed by Yukari Hashimoto (A Sign of Affection).
The
original manga is the work of Kenta Shinohara, creator of SKET
Dance, and has been well received both for its humor and for its mix of the
supernatural with the slice-of-life.
A
magical coexistence full of chaos
WITCH
WATCH follows
the story of Morihito Otogi, a high school student descended from
ogres who lives peacefully until his childhood friend Nico, a
witch-in-training, moves into his house. Nico chooses him as his familiar,
and from then on his daily life is altered by accidental spells, romantic
tensions and magical threats that could change everything.
The series
is available on Crunchyroll, as part of its catalog for the 2025
summer season.
