What is DAN DA DAN about?
Crunchyroll describes this story as
a romantic comedy with supernatural overtones. The plot
follows Momo, a high school student from a family of mediums, and
her partner Okarun, a fan of the occult. After meeting and arguing
about the existence of ghosts and aliens, they decide to test their theories
separately: Momo visits an abandoned hospital where UFOs have been seen, and
Okarun enters a haunted tunnel.
Both end up
facing real paranormal phenomena that defy all logic. In the midst of these
experiences, Momo awakens a hidden power, while Okarun is possessed by a curse
that grants him special abilities. From there, a story full of action, humor
and romance begins.
A
growing franchise
The anime's
first season premiered on October 3, 2023, in Japan via the Super
Animeism TURBO block on TBS and MBS channels.
That same day, Netflix began streaming the series globally,
while Crunchyroll added it to its catalog shortly after.
The second
season began airing in Japan on July 3, 2025 and is
currently streaming simultaneously on Crunchyroll. For its part,
the manga continues to be published through Shueisha's Shonen
Jump+, and is available in English thanks to Viz Media and
the MANGA Plus service.
With its
arrival in Toonami, DAN DA DAN promises to continue expanding
its fan base globally, consolidating itself as one of the most original and
entertaining proposals in anime today.
