The second
season of the Kaiju No. 8 anime has unveiled the uncredited versions
of its new opening and closing sequences, which can now be enjoyed online. The
opening animation features the theme "You Can't Run From
Yourself", performed by the artist AURORA, while
the ending theme uses the song "Beautiful Colors", by
the renowned band OneRepublic.
A
high-level creative cast
The new
season is directed by Shigeyuki Miya under the production
of the Production I.G. studio. The series is composed by Yuichiro
Kido, with Tetsuya Nishio as chief animation director and
character designer. The design of the kaiju is done by Mahiro Maeda,
the art is directed by Shinji Kimura and the music is the work
of Yuta Bando.
A story
of struggle, promises, and monsters
Both
seasons of Kaiju No. 8 are currently available on Crunchyroll.
The story follows Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old man who longs to join
the Defense Force to fulfill a childhood promise with his
friend Mina Ashiro. While working cleaning up kaiju remains, he
meets Reno Ichikawa, whose determination inspires him to try again.
Everything
changes when a small kaiju enters his body, granting him superhuman powers that
make him a living weapon against these creatures. Kafka must earn the trust of
his companions, face increasingly powerful enemies and protect humanity.
A manga
that comes to an end
The
original Kaiju No. 8 manga, written and illustrated by Naoya
Matsumoto, was published by Shueisha in the digital
magazine Shonen Jump+ from July 2020 to July 2025.
In the West, the official English version is published by VIZ Media.
