Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine announced in its October issue that the Hoshi-kui Koroshi Egnaro manga, by Arata Yamaji, has been canceled. The publisher said that the decision was due to "various circumstances" that prevented the author from working on the series continuously.

A Fantasy World Interrupted

The story was set in a world divided by a gigantic rift that sinks deep into the earth. Adventurers and explorers entered this abyss in search of treasures and artifacts, while the protagonist Egnaro embarked on a journey to challenge and murder a god.

The manga was launched in February 2024 in Kadokawa magazine, and it published its third compilation volume on April 24. Despite its short run, the series had aroused interest for its dark fantasy proposal.

Arata Yamaji's Legacy

Yamaji is widely known for having created the spin-off manga A Certain Scientific Accelerator, centered on the character Accelerator from the A Certain Magical Index franchise. This work was published in the same magazine between 2013 and July 2020, bringing together 12 volumes. In the West, Seven Seas Entertainment published the manga in English, with the last volume published in June 2021.

From the pages to the anime

The spinoff A Certain Scientific Accelerator inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation released in July 2019. The series was broadcast on platforms such as Crunchyroll and Funimation, further consolidating the author's international recognition.
