The
official website of My Hero Academia published the main
trailer for the eighth and final season, including subtitles. The
video teases the opening theme titled "THE REVO," performed
by Porno Graffitti, marking the return of the series' iconic music.
The final
season will debut on October 4 at 17:30 JST (Spain time: 10:30
CET) on YTV and NTV affiliated
channels. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide,
excluding Asia, while also airing in Japan.
Fan
Engagement and Special Voting
Since July
15, fans have been able to participate in the "My Hero
Academia ULTIMATE SCENE RANKING" project, voting for their
favorite scenes of heroes and villains from the previous seven seasons. Voting
will be open until September 15 and the results will be
revealed during the premiere of the final season.
Franchise
and manga review
The
original staff returns for this final season, including lead director Kenji
Nagasaki, director Naomi Nakayama, script supervisor Yōsuke Kuroda,
character designers Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi
Odashima, and composer Yuki Hayashi. The BONES studio
continues to be in charge of the animation.
Kōhei
Horikoshi's manga
began in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and ended in August
2024, reaching over 100 million copies in circulation. Volume 42,
the last compilation, was released on December 4 and includes
38 pages of additional content after the original ending.
Recent
projects and films
The anime
also featured specials such as My Hero Academia Memories and
the seventh season. In addition, the film My Hero Academia: You're Next was
released in Japan in August 2024 and arrived in the United States on October
11, available in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema formats, with an animated
bonus titled "A Piece of Cake" on Blu-ray and DVD.
The
spin-off anime My Hero Academia: Watchers premiered on April
7 and is available on Crunchyroll with English dubbing. It has been
announced that this series will also have a second season in 2026.
