The
official website for the animated adaptation of Eren the Southpaw (Hidarikiki
no Eren) confirmed that the series will premiere in april 2026.
Along with the announcement, a new one was revealed visual teaser-
a promotional video, the main cast and full details of the production team.
The anime
will be directed by Toshimasa Suzuki (Fafner: Heaven and
Earth) in the studies Signal.MD and Production IG.
The script will be in charge of Taku Kishimoto (Bluelock, Haikyu!!),
while Takayuki Gotō (Ghost in the Shell: SAC) will
design the characters. Shōya Chiba will play Koichi
Asakura and Yumi Uchiyama will give voice to Eren
Yamagishi, the protagonists of this story about art and self-discovery.
A story
about talent, frustration and growth
The plot
follows Koichi Asakura, a student who dreams of being a designer,
and a Eren Yamagishi, a left-handed artist whose creativity has
been repressed after an incident. Their paths cross through art, inspiring each
other to pursue their dreams. The distributor GAGA he
describes the series as a deep look at the creative process and insecurities of
youth.
The original manga, written by Kappi and illustrated by Nifuni, debuted in 2016 and ended in 2022 after 24 volumes. The work had already inspired a live-action series in 2019, and is now preparing its definitive leap into anime with a renewed visual focus and a message about the personal search for talent.
