An important change shakes the production of No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger, the 50th anniversary series of Super Sentai. The official site confirmed that Kohaku Shida will replace Maya Imamori in the role of Sumino Ichikawa (Gozyu Unicorn).
The decision comes a week after it was announced that Imamori was fired both from her agency and from the series, after it was reported that the actress was discovered consuming alcoholic beverages as a minor, practice prohibited in Japan.
Imamori, who will turn 20 in March, publicly acknowledged his mistake via Instagram, where he expressed his regret and apologized to his fans, castmates and staff involved in the production.
How it will affect the program
Episode 37, recently broadcast, has already eliminated all of the actress's appearances. Even his line of dialogue was replaced by the voice of Ayaka Maekawa. Additionally, the opening sequence was edited to remove any shots where it appeared.
The new interpreter, Kohaku Shida —previously known for her role as Haruka Kitō (Oni Sister) in Avatarō Sentai Donbrothers— will make his formal debut in episode 40, scheduled for November 30.
An actress with experience in the genre
In addition to his participation in Donbrothers, Shida also starred in the television adaptation of the manga Legendary Boss, Sho (Densetsu no Head Sho) in 2024. His return to the franchise has been received with surprise, but also with positive expectations from fans.
An uncertain future for Imamori
Although the young actress has shown regret, the consequences are now officially irreversible for her participation in Gozyuger. For now, production has taken quick steps to continue the series without delays.
