The demon hunters' party continues. Netflix announced Thursday that the second season of the animated series based on CAPCOM's video game franchise, Devil May Cry, will make its global debut on May 12, 2026. The announcement comes after the successful performance of the first installment.

The first season, which premiered on April 3 with eight episodes, debuted at number 4 on Netflix's global Top 10 list, accumulating 5.3 million views in its first three days and entering the top 10 in 87 countries. The production is in charge of Studio Mir, with scripts by Adi Shankar and Alex Larsen.

Stellar voice cast

The series maintains its luxury cast in both English and Japanese:

  • Johnny Yong Bosch and Toshiyuki Morikawa return as the voice of Dante in English and Japanese, respectively.
  • Hiroaki Hirata (Japanese) plays Vergil.
  • Fumiko Orikasa (Japanese) and Scout Taylor-Compton (English) give life to Lady (Mary).
  • The English version features the posthumous participation of the legendary Kevin Conroy.

The "Bootleg Multiverse"

Producer Adi Shankar, who acquired the rights in 2018, has stated that this series joins Castlevania in what he calls its "multiverse bootleg". The series is also notable for its soundtrack, including Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'" in the opening sequence and themes by Evanescence.
