"Human-zee" Charlie is ready to take on human society. The official website of the anime adaptation of the manga The Darwin Incident (Darwin Jihen), created by Shun Umezawa, revealed a new promotional video on Friday. The trailer confirms that the series will premiere on January 6, 2026 (technically midnight on January 7) via TV Tokyo and its affiliates.
The trailer features a sneak peek of the opening theme, titled "Make Me Wonder," which is performed by hit pop-rock band Official HIGE DANdism (known for the openings of Tokyo Revengers and Spy x Family), raising expectations for the production.
New additions to the cast
Five new cast members have been announced to join the story:
- Toshiyuki Morikawa (Bondrewd in Made in Abyss, Minato Namikaze in Naruto) as Gilbert Stein
- Rina Sato (Mikoto Misaka in A Certain Scientific Railgun) as Hannah Stein
- Yoji Ueda (Speedwagon in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) as Philip Graham
- Kaito Ishikawa (Genos in One Punch Man) as Gale
- Hiroya Egashira as Lesley K. Lippman
Production Equipment
The anime is produced by Bellnox Films under the direction of Naokatsu Tsuda, famous for directing the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise. The character design is by Shinpei Tomooka, while the music is composed by Alisa Okehazama (Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries).
