The season's most energetic school romance is ready to begin. Shochiku revealed on Friday the fourth promotional video for the anime adaptation of the manga You and I Are Polar Opposites (Seihantaina Kimi to Boku), created by Kocha Agasawa. The trailer confirms that the series will debut on January 11, 2026, and will be simulcast by Crunchyroll.
The new video offers the first preview of the opening theme, titled "Lose the Frames" (Megane wo Hazushite), performed by artist Noa. Previously it had been announced that the ending theme will be "Pure feat. Eriko Hashimoto", by PAS TASTA. The soundtrack of the series is composed by the renowned producer Tofubeats.
Cast and Production Team
The series, animated by Lapin Track under the direction of Takakazu Nagatomo, features a main cast headed by:
- Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!) as Suzuki
- Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa in Chainsaw Man) as Tani
- Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in Chainsaw Man) as Honda
About the original work
The manga was launched on the Shonen Jump+ platform in May 2022 and ended in November 2024, accumulating more than 1.6 million copies in circulation. The story follows the relationship between Suzuki, an energetic girl who follows fashion, and Tani, a quiet and studious boy, proving that opposites attract.
