DLsite launches its own credit card to circumvent Visa's block

When the doors close, you build your own entrance. That seems to be the motto of viviON, the company behind Japanese digital content giant DLsite. On December 19, the company announced the launch of its own official credit card, the "viviON JCB Card", specifically designed so that users can buy comics, games and ASMR (both for all ages and R-18) with complete "peace of mind".

This move is a direct and forceful response to the crisis of April 2024, when international processors such as VisaMastercard and American Express suspended their services on the platform due to their policies on adult content. Since then, JCB has been the only card brand to maintain its support, and now that partnership has gone from strength to strength.

Benefits for the loyal user

The card will be primarily virtual and free through a mobile app (with an optional physical version for $20). To incentivize adoption and ensure creators continue to receive support, the company will offer a generous 4% point cashback rate for purchases made between January 26 and July 31, 2026. Together with its Minna no Ginko direct payment system, launched in October, DLsite is shielding its ecosystem from ever again relying on the moral decisions of foreign financial companies.
