Millionaire debt and mind games are coming to television. Anime distributor REMOW on Thursday revealed a new trailer and the key visual for the anime adaptation of the manga Liar Game, created by Shinobu Kaitani. The trailer confirms that the series, produced by the legendary Madhouse studio, will premiere in April 2026.
Protagonists revealed
The video introduces the voices that will embody the naïve protagonist and the swindling genius who will help her:
- Saya Hitomi (Chi en Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) as Nao Kanzaki
- Takeo Otsuka (Aqua Hoshino in Oshi no Ko) as Shinichi Akiyama
High-level production staff
The direction is in charge of Asami Kawano (assistant director on The Vampire Dies in No Time) under the Madhouse studio. The series composition and scripts are the work of Tatsuhiko Urahata (Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf), while Kei Tsuchiya designs the characters.
A highlight is the soundtrack, which will be composed by Yugo Kanno (Psycho-Pass, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), promising a tense and exciting atmosphere.
About the original work
The psychological thriller manga ran in Shueisha's Young Jump magazine between 2005 and 2015, ending with 19 volumes. The story follows Nao Kanzaki, who is dragged into the "Liar Game," a tournament where participants must cheat each other to win large sums of money or lose everything.
