Chaotic college vacations and dubious diving practices are ready to move into international waters. The production committee has officially announced that the third season of the anime adaptation of the Grand Blue manga will begin airing on Japanese television during the month of July, through the TOKYO MX, BS11 and MBS networks.

The update was accompanied by the release of a new promotional trailer focused on the Palau arc, marking the first time the main story has been set outside of Japan. Through this audiovisual material, the integration of a new voice actress to the cast of this long-awaited animated sequel was confirmed.

The international expedition of the peculiar diving club expands its staff of characters by interacting with both local residents and tourists from the region.

About the work

The plot follows Iori Kitahara, a young man who moves to a coastal city to start his university life. What he expected to be a normal academic debut quickly turns into absolute chaos when he is dragged into joining the local diving club, a group of upperclassmen whose main activities consist of uncontrolled drinking and questionable parties, leaving diving in the background.

The original work, written by mangaka Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka, began serialization in 2014 and remains in publication with solid commercial success. The animated franchise originally debuted in July 2018 with its first season, cementing its popularity with a second installment that concluded in September last year. Now, this third season promises to elevate the comedy by moving the cast to a completely tropical setting.
