The tension on the baseball diamond is reigniting for the spring season. The production committee behind the long-awaited sequel Ace of Diamond Act II Second Season (known in Japan as Daiya no A Act II) has just released a spectacular second official trailer. Fans of this iconic spokon can already get their gloves ready, as the footage confirmed that the first launch of this new television stage will occur on April 5.



The intense trailer also allowed us to learn about the renewed musical identity of the franchise. The energetic band Baby Canta will take charge of raising the adrenaline at the beginning of each episode with their opening theme titled "Let's Go Crazy." To complement the sports experience, the popular group SUPERDRAGON will perform the ending theme called "Number".

This installment marks a historic turning point for the project, as the animation baton passes from the experienced hands of Madhouse to the halls of the OLM studio. With this surprise change of production house, Hideaki Oba assumes the chair of main director, while artist Yasukazu Shoji takes the reins as the new character designer of the series.


Despite the deep technical restructuring, the production ensured the return of vital pieces to preserve the narrative essence of previous seasons. Kenji Konuta returns to closely supervise the scripts, while veteran Hajime Hyakkoku returns to compose the unmistakable original soundtrack.




About the original work


Mangaka Yuji Terajima is the great architect behind this giant of the sports genre. After concluding the first part of his work in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine with a total of 47 compilation volumes, the author began the direct serialization of his sequel, closing his extensive career of 16 uninterrupted years in October 2022. The passion for this universe is more alive than ever, having recently published a successful spin-off focused on the clash between Teito and Ugumori that concluded this March.
