Behind the
colorful avatars and funny transmissions of VTubers, there is a
very dark reality that often goes unnoticed. Many assume that working concealing
the real identity behind a digital character is the perfect shield against the
dangers of the outside world, but unfortunately this is not the case. The
renowned content creator Hatsuka Neru, who is part of the talent
division of the giant corporate firm Rakuten Group, has been forced
to raise her voice to denounce a terrible situation of harassment and
persecution that has completely destroyed her peace of mind and her
ability to work in peace.
When
obsession breaks the digital screen
Through an
extensive personal statement, the virtual artist detailed the nightmare she
lives outside the digital stages. Several individuals have crossed all lines of
respect, subjecting her to excessive surveillance, constant
persecution in her daily routine, and unauthorized video recordings in public
spaces. As if that were not enough, these individuals have dedicated themselves
to spreading false rumors and malicious speculations on the internet about
their private lives. This accumulation of toxic behaviors has not only caused
her enormous anxiety and mental burden, but has also generated a
real concern for her physical integrity, complicating her daily activities and
her live broadcasts.

In her
message, the creator recalled a point that many obsessive fans completely
forget: streamers and content creators are real human beings with
lives off the screen. Although she thanked the enormous affection of the vast
majority of her followers who enjoy the content in a healthy way, she pointed
out the harsh reality of feeling constantly watched and scared. The statement
does not seek to attack her community, but to establish an urgent limit so that
she and other creators in the industry can continue to work in a safe and
threat-free environment.
Rakuten
prepares the lawsuits and legal strategy
The
institutional response was not long in coming in the face of the seriousness of
the situation. Rakuten Group's talent management division
published an official notice fully endorsing its creator. The company made it
clear that it will not tolerate any type of defamation, ambushes on public
roads or attempts at unwanted contact towards the personnel they represent. To
stop this immediately, they announced that they are drastically strengthening
their security and monitoring systems in both virtual and
physical environments, warning that any future violations will be prosecuted
through civil and criminal legal claims.
This
troubling scenario exposes the great danger faced by modern public figures,
where the line between the fictional character and the real person playing them
is often blurred for certain unstable fans. Digital entertainment agencies are
understanding that protection must go far beyond moderating a live chat or
banning users from a platform. Taking into account the dangerous scope that
these obsessive behaviors can have on the mental health of an artist
