The crushing victory at the Academy Awards was
not enough to satiate the hunger for destruction. The production company Toho
has just released the first and dense promotional video for Godzilla
Minus Zero, the ambitious direct sequel that promises to
raise the chaos on screen to the limit. The film will burst into Japanese
theaters on November 3, and then make a massive leap to North
American theaters on November 6, with a spectacular almost
simultaneous deployment in Europe, Latin America and the rest of the world.
To ensure that this new visual massacre
surpasses its award-winning predecessor, the acclaimed Takashi Yamazaki once
again takes absolute control occupying the chair of director, screenwriter
and visual effects supervisor. The narrative drags us along
exactly two years after the devastating battle we witnessed in 2023, completely
shattering the fragile peace that the survivors had barely managed to rebuild.
As a true technical milestone for the Japanese film industry, this huge
production has become the first Japanese feature film shot
entirely for the colossal IMAX format, boasting a terrifying slogan in its
promotional art: "The sin and punishment of humanity. We can no longer go
back to zero."
Figures such as Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada,
Kuranosuke Sasaki, Sakura Ando and Mio Tanaka will reprise their respective
characters. To this solid squad is added the veteran Min Tanaka in the role of
Kanji Murakami, a biologist marked by war who will try to make sense of this
new mutant aberration.
Considering that the previous installment made
history by destroying the global box office and snatching the
Oscar for Best Visual Effects from Hollywood
