Extreme skateboarding fans have been waiting
for signs of life for a long time, but patience has finally paid off. Through
the official website of the franchise, director Hiroko
Utsumi made the entire community happy by publishing
a special message and an unpublished illustration to calm the anxieties about
the highly anticipated second season of the original SK8 the Infinity anime.
In his statement, Utsumi was quite transparent
and confessed that the production team is not yet at a stage
where they can show finished audiovisual material to the public. However, they
did not want to leave fans empty-handed and shared a rather juicy detail: the
theme of this sequel will be set in the freezing winter season. The message was
accompanied by a fun concept art that shows two of the protagonists sporting
thick coats with fur trim and traditional conical hats, ready to slide on the
snow with their skateboards under the slogan "Season 2", making it
clear that the possibilities for this new stage are practically endless.
Recall that this successful sports gem animated
by the renowned Bones studio burst into the anime
industry in 2021, quickly gaining a loyal fan base. Although the
second season and a draft of original episodes (OVA) were announced with great
fanfare in August 2022, so far we have only been able to enjoy the four shorts
released in March 2025. Although we still do not have an official premiere
window for the television continuation, the director closed her message by
assuring that the work is progressing at a steady pace and asked fans to
continue supporting the project
Knowing that now the protagonists will have to face
extreme weather and snow-covered terrain
