If you're a
fan of old-school romantic stories that got your heart racing, hold on because
one of shojo's most beloved gems will finally make the leap to the screens. The
animated adaptation of the Dengeki Daisy manga unveiled its first
official trailer during a special presentation at the KyoMAF event, confirming
that the series will premiere in January 2027 and air continuously for
two consecutive semesters.
The first
video preview allowed us to see the main characters in action and announced new
members for the voice cast. The renowned Tomokazu Sugita will lend his
voice to Soichiro Kurebayashi, while Yuka Terasaki will play Riko
Onizuka, Setsuji Sato will take on the role of Masuda and Kohei
Amasaki will give life to Akira. They join the previously confirmed
protagonists, with Yoshino Aoyama playing the young Teru Kurebayashi and
Taku Yashiro in the role of the mysterious Tasuku Kurosaki.
The
production of the series is carried out by the renowned Studio DEEN
studio with the general direction of Sota Ueno. The supervision and
writing of the scripts is in charge of Sawako Hirabayashi, while Ayaka
Murakami adapts the character designs for animation. In addition, the
soundtrack will be composed by acclaimed musician Masaru Yokoyama,
ensuring a nostalgic and emotional atmosphere for the adaptation.

Written and
illustrated by Kyousuke Motomi, the original manga was published in the
pages of Shogakukan's Monthly Betsucomi magazine between 2007 and 2013,
accumulating a total of 16 compilation volumes and exceeding five million
copies sold worldwide.
The plot
follows Teru Kurebayashi, an orphan girl who after losing her beloved older
brother finds comfort in the text messages she exchanges with DAISY, a
mysterious figure who can only be reached through a cell phone left by her
brother before he died. After accidentally breaking a window at the school,
Teru ends up working for Tasuku Kurosaki, the school's janitor. Although
Kurosaki has a rather grumpy attitude and makes her work hard, he always ends
up protecting her when she needs it most, changing her life completely.
