is going to be a real gem. The mastermind behind The Apothecary's Diaries
is once again on everyone's lips thanks to the opening of the official website
that confirms the anime adaptation of The Failure at God School (Kami-sama
Gakkou no Ochikobore), the fantasy and supernatural comedy manga that he
writes together with the art of Modomu Akagawara.
The story
takes us to a world where supernatural phenomena are so common that the
government itself had to get its hands on it to create a system of licenses,
special schools and classifications for people with mysterious powers. In this
society, any manifestation of a miracle earns you the rank of Himiko, but only
those who achieve official certification can hold the title of a true god.
That's where Nagi comes in, a high school student who urgently needs to get a
divinity for her family's shrine after the death of her grandmother, since her
older brother is a Himiko locked in his room who doesn't help at all.
Both the
creative team and the authors themselves shared their excitement after the
official announcement. Hyuganatsu expressed his deep joy at seeing that his
characters Nagi, Takeru, Tsukuyomi, and Tota will finally have a voice and
movement on the small screen, fondly remembering how he started this journey
when his publisher proposed to him to write a work for Hana to Yume
magazine alongside illustrator Modomu Akagawara, who also celebrated the news
by sharing a beautiful commemorative illustration to thank the audience's
enormous support.
