Sometimes
the girl everyone considers cold and unapproachable at school just doesn't know
how to strike up a conversation without dying of embarrassment. The anime
adaptation of the light novels The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me (Shiotaiou
no Satou-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai) presented its official trailer and a new
promotional image to announce that its television premiere will be on October
6.
The new
video teaser offered a glimpse into the soundtrack that will accompany this
misunderstood love story. Popular singer Masayoshi Oishi will perform
the opening theme titled "Sugar Salt," while the renowned group HoneyWorks
in collaboration with Hoshikawa Sara will perform the closing theme with
the song "Hatsukoi Reply."
As for the
cast of voice actors, the leading couple will be made up of Hiiro Ishibashi
as Sota Oshio and Miku Ito in the role of the reserved Koharu Sato. The
supporting cast includes Miyu Tomita as Rinka Sudo, Chiaki Kobayashi
as Ren Misono, Yoshino Aoyama as Shizuku Misono, Hisako Kanemoto
as Mayo Nezu, Yasunori Matsumoto as Seizaemon Oshio, and Yuki Wakai
as Madoka Murasaki.
The
animation is in charge of the production house Tezuka Productions under
the general direction of Fumihiro Yoshimura. The supervision and writing
of the scripts is in the hands of Takashi Aoshima, known for his work on
romantic comedies such as The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really,
Really, Really Love You, and Himouto! Umaruchan. In addition, Daisuke
Okushima is in charge of character design and Shun Narita is
responsible for composing the music.

Born from
the work of author Kazami Sawatari and illustrator Achiki, the
light novel series began publication on Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint in
2019. The work also has a manga version illustrated by Kaya Tetsuyama that has
been published since May 2020 on the digital platforms Manga ONE and Ura
Sunday
The plot
follows in the footsteps of Sota Oshio, a student who works in a cafeteria and
accidentally discovers the true face of Koharu Sato. Although everyone at
school nicknames her "the cold Sato-san" for her aloof attitude, Sota
notes that she is actually an extremely shy and awkward girl to relate to. From
that moment on, the two gradually begin to grow closer in a story where mutual
affection advances between misunderstandings and tender moments.
