After a long wait with no news since its initial announcement in mid-2023, the promising sci-fi survival story Rebuild World finally showed signs of life again. Kadokawa officially shared the first promotional image of the animated adaptation, also revealing the key names that will be in charge of the production within the studio.

The animation will be in the hands of the Raging Bull studio, with Tsukasa Sakurai as chief director and Shingo Uchida in the general direction of the series. The supervision and writing of the scripts were under the responsibility of Naoki Tozuka, while the character design adapted for the screen will be in charge of Hiromi Kato. As for the main voice cast, it was confirmed that Daiki Yamashita will lend her voice to the young Akira, Yurika Kubo will play the mysterious Alpha and Honoka Inoue will give life to the character of Sheryl.

The plot transports viewers to a distant future where the peak of human civilization is already in the past, leaving behind a destroyed world full of ruins. Surviving humanity attempts to rebuild society by recovering ancient artifacts of immense technical power, even if getting them means risking their lives in the face of automated security systems and out-of-control biological weapons. In the midst of this reality, Akira, a young orphan from the suburbs who seeks to escape misery, decides to become a relic hunter. His luck changes drastically when he crosses paths with Alpha, a mysterious woman with the appearance of a specter who offers to train him in exchange for his services.

Rebuild World is a series of science fiction light novels written by Nahuse, originally born on the Shosetsuka ni Naro and Kakuyomu portals in February 2017. The work made the leap to the printed format under the Kadokawa publishing house in 2019, with illustrations by Gin, concept art of environments by yish and mechanical designs made by cell. The franchise also has a successful manga adaptation illustrated by Kirihito Ayamura, which has been published since July 2019 and accumulates sixteen compilation volumes.
