Spreading
unfounded rumors online to gain interactions may seem like a fun game to some,
but the legal consequences in the Japanese entertainment industry are becoming
more severe. The representation agency I'm Enterprise issued an official
statement this Friday, October 2, 2026, to put a stop to the defamatory
publications that have recently circulated on social networks against the
renowned voice actress and singer Maaya Uchida.
In the
statement, the agency confirmed the presence of multiple publications with
totally unsubstantiated claims, accompanied by speculation and hateful comments
built from those same inventions. The company was categorical in pointing out
that none of the accusations or stories that are circulating on the network
have any real basis, warning that this type of harassment threatens the honor
and privacy not only of the artist, but also of the people close to her work
environment, seriously affecting her physical and emotional well-being.
In view of
this situation, I'm Enterprise announced that it is already working hand in
hand with legal advisors to document and track each of the offensive
publications. The company will initiate a forceful legal process that will
include complaints to law enforcement authorities, formal requests to remove
defamatory content from platforms, lawsuits to reveal the identity of anonymous
users behind the accounts, and legal action to demand financial compensation
for damages. The agency also asked the public not to give credence to these
inventions and to refrain from sharing, copying or spreading any type of rumor
related to the actress.
