That
typical idea that the quiet and glasses-wearing colleague in the living room is
a meek dove is about to crumble on television. The official page of the
animated adaptation of the Megane manga, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun (Glasses
With a Chance of Delinquent) published its first promotional video,
confirming that the series will officially premiere in April 2027.
The first
trailer offered a taste of the character designs and revealed the voices in
charge of leading this school romantic comedy. Actor Hiroto Shimizu will
lend his voice to the seemingly reformed Dan Ichikura, while Suzuko Hara
will play the cautious Hiro Momose and Yuma Tomochika will bring the
character of Ohana-chan to life.
The
production of the anime is done through a joint effort between Studio Flad
and Wao World studios. Makoto Hoshino is directing, accompanied
by Megumi Shimizu in the writing and supervision of the scripts, while Ruriko
Watanabe is in charge of adapting the character designs for the small
screen.

Tokidoki, Yankee-kun
is a romantic comedy written and illustrated by Naruki. The work began

January 2021, accumulating eleven compilation volumes in the Japanese print

The story
follows Momose, a high school girl whose only desire is to lead a quiet school
life totally away from problem kids, delinquents or vandals. Everything seems
to be going great when she meets Ichikura, a young man with black hair, glasses
and a harmless appearance who seems to be the nicest boy in the world. However,
the illusion is quickly shattered when she discovers that he was one of the
most feared gang members in high school. Although Ichikura insists that he has
changed and seeks to leave his past behind, his short fuse and his ease in
getting into fights will test Momose's patience, who must decide whether to
keep his secret while chaos flourishes between them
