Solving
crimes can be relatively straightforward when you're a police genius, but
understanding love feelings is a whole different matter. KADOKAWA unveiled a
new trailer for Isshiki-san Wants to Know About Love, the anime
adaptation of Ayune Araragi's manga, confirming that popular cosplayer Enako
will be involved in both the voice cast and the music section. The series is
scheduled to premiere in January 2027 on Japanese television.
The trailer
allows you to hear a fragment of Go Yoku Koi or Seisu!?, the opening
theme that will be performed by Enako. But the famous cosplayer will not be
satisfied with singing the opening, as she will also give voice to Nene
Haneshita, a nurse who works at the police station and who, curiously, is
quite popular among her colleagues. Although many try to win her over, she
always finds a way to dodge his romantic proposals.
A
brilliant policewoman who knows nothing about love
The story
follows Rinna Isshiki Milford, a young prodigy who managed to become a police
inspector at just 17 years old. His intelligence and strict personality have
allowed him to earn the respect of his peers, but there is a small problem: he
has never fallen in love and has no idea how romantic relationships work.
Things
start to get complicated when she meets Meishi Rokutanda, a rather clueless
detective who, despite his constant mistakes, has a noble heart. For some
reason, Rinna begins to get nervous whenever she is near him, experiencing
feelings that even her brilliant mind cannot explain.
To find out
what's going on, they both decide to start a pretend relationship, with
the intention of learning about romance together. And if the two of you are
complete beginners in love, there is probably no better solution than to start
dating and see what happens. Although with such a lack of experience, they will
surely end up complicating their lives more than necessary.
The
anime will feature voices from Zom 100 and other titles
As for the
cast, Riko Akechi will play Rinna Isshiki Milford, while Shuichiro Umeda
will voice Meishi Rokutanda. The latter is known for playing Akira Tendo in
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, so now he will trade the problems of a
zombie apocalypse for those of a romantic relationship.
The new
trailer also allows you to hear from other cast members, including Haruki
Ishiya as Danjuro Iwata, Takuma Nagatsuka as Masato Nakatani, Hiiro Ishibashi
as Chikai Matsumoto, and Yu Wakui as Rena Yamakawa.
As for the
production team, Kazuya Komai will be in charge of directing at Sakura
Create studios, with Deko Akao in charge of the composition of the series. The
latter has previously worked on productions such as Komi Can't Communicate
and The Case Study of Vanitas. For his part, Shohei Hamaguchi will be
responsible for character design, while Michiru will compose the soundtrack.
It was also
confirmed that the first two episodes will have an early screening on
December 13 at Tokyo's Ikebukuro HUMAX cinemas, accompanied by a chat with
Riko Akechi, Shuichiro Umeda and Enako.
It should
be recalled that the original Isshiki-san manga Wants to Know About Love,
known in Japan as Isshiki-san wa Koi or Shiritai, began publication in
June 2020 in KADOKAWA's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine. The work has ten
compiled volumes published, while the eleventh will arrive in Japanese
bookstores on December 24.
