Previously it was reported that new retro modes will allow the inclusion of characters in 16-Bit aspect (from the SEGA Genesis era), as well as the music of the first and second games of the saga. This new adventure comes 26 years after the last game, although apparently the story is located chronologically 25 years after the end of SOR3.
