The June issue of Shinchosha publisher's Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine announced that author Junya Inoue (Btooom!) Will be releasing a new manga in the next issue of the magazine on May 21.
The manga will be titled Kaijuu Jieitai: Task Force for Paranormal Disaster Management, and the first chapter will feature a colored front page. The prologue for this manga was published in the aforementioned edition and had 54 pages.
The magazine describes this work as "a global battle to survive" and a hyper-realistic monster search and destroy operation.
On the other hand, Inoue started publishing the Btooom! in the Weekly Comic Bunch magazine of the Shinchosa publishing house in 2009, and later transferred it to Monthly Comic @Bunch in 2011. The work ended its serialization in March 2018, and later an alternative ending was published in the B Bunch magazine in that same year.
The two versions of the 26th and final compilation volume were released in April 2018. The play inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation directed by Kotono Watanabe at Madhouse Studios, and released in October 2012.
