For its part, the game was released in June 2017 for iOS and Android devices in Japan, and was developed by Akatsuki. The installment inspired a manga adaptation written by Bkub Okawa and a novelization titled Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine ~ Before Summer ~.
Additionally, the game inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment studios, under the direction of Susumu Kudo, and scripts written by Jin Tanaka, released in April 2019.
