The Crunchyroll platform interviewed parents Roxy and Victor about their decision to name their newborn son "Asta", in honor of the protagonist of the manga written and illustrated by Yuuki Tabata, Black Clover. Both parents mentioned being anime fans since childhood, and when asked why they chose Asta's name, they replied:
“The name began to resonate in our heads due to how active Asta was when she was in her womb, she looked more like a washing machine with all her movements. Just hanging around there for half an hour, taking a break, and then going back to her games afterward. Even the midwife, nurses, and doctors agreed that he was an extremely active boy from his early stage until his birth. We were told that it will be a very strong and healthy baby, so the name "Asta" makes a lot of sense if you look at it that way. "
The couple also considered other names such as Natsu, Sora, Roxas, Yuki, and are even considering the name of the series deuteragonist, "Yuno", for their future children, since it is a unisex name.
Furthermore, the anime has been broadcast since October 2017, and was originally announced with only 51 episodes. The manga written and illustrated by Yuuki Tabata began to be published in the Shueisha editorial Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2015. The publisher published the twenty-third compilation volume on January 4.
