At the eighty-third issue of Denadoki Daioh G magazine from Kadokawa, it was announced that the spin-off manga written and illustrated by Kaede Nogiwa, Mushoku Tensei - 4-Koma ni Nattemo Honki Dasu, will come to an end in the next issue of the magazine, in August.

Nogiwa began publishing the manga in Kadokawa's Dengeki Daioh G magazine in October 2018. The publisher published the second compilation volume on March 27. The story centers on Rudeus' daily life during his childhood and living with his parents, while learning magic with his tutor Roxy.

Furthermore, this spin-off manga is inspired by light novels written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by SiroTaka, Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu. Rifujin na Magonote started publishing the novels on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2012 and finished it in April 2015. Subsequently, the Media Factory publisher began publishing on paper with illustrations by SiroTaka in January 2014. The publisher published the twenty-second volume in July 2019.

The play is inspiring an anime adaptation slated to premiere in 2021, produced by Studio Bind, under the direction of Manabu Okamoto.

Synopsis for Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu

Killed while saving a stranger during a car accident, a 34-year-old NEET reincarnates in a new world of magic under the name of Rudeus Greyrat, a newborn. With knowledge, experience, and regrets from a past life, Rudeus vows to lead a full life and never repeat his mistakes.

Now endowed with tremendous magical power as well as the mindset of an adult man, Rudeus is seen as a potential genius by his new parents. Soon, he will be seen being trained by powerful warriors, such as his father, a swordsman, and a magician named Roxy Migurdia. But despite his innocent exterior, Rudeus is still a perverted otaku, and uses his vast knowledge to endorse women he never enjoyed in his former life.

The novels are inspiring a television anime that will premiere in 2021.
