Lucky Star: Misao stars in hilarious music video

A “MAD Video” (a word that defines a parody with segments of an anime, other than the AMV) starring Misao Kusakabe from the almost forgotten Lucky Star series has been gaining popularity two years after its publication, since its creator has spread the video on social media, probably to instill nostalgia among those who remember Lucky Star as the series that fueled the "moe boom."

The post on Twitter accumulated more than 9,900 retweets and comments, more than 32,800 visits and more than 466,700 m likes in just two days. The video shows Misao and her friends playing New Super Mario Bros, and throwing a series of lines according to one of the tracks in the game.

The video is titled “New Super Misao,” and it will most likely make fans fondly remember the Lucky Star anime and its endless moe content. For its part, Lucky Star is a four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Kagami Yoshimizu, who has been publishing it in various magazines and Kadokawa publishing sites since December 2003.

The play inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation Studios, directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto and scripts written by Touko Machida, released in April 2007.

Lucky Star Synopsis

The story follows the daily lives of four high school girls: Konata Izumi, the lazy otaku; the twins Hiiragi, Tsukasa and Kagami; and the intelligent and educated Miyuki Takara.

As their school days progress, they develop their eccentric and lively friendship, while making humorous observations about the world around them. Whether it's the Japanese tradition, the intricacies of otaku culture, academics, or the correct way to prepare and eat various foods, no topic is safe from their talks.
