In this year's ninth issue of Kadokawa publisher's Monthly Comic Beam magazine it was revealed that Masatoshi Usune's manga written and illustrated, Sunabouzu, will come to an end with its next chapter in October.
The magazine had already revealed in June that the manga will end in two chapters, the one published on August 12 was the first of them. For his part, Usune began publishing the manga in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Beam magazine in 1997. The play resumed in 2004 with a new arc, but went on hiatus in 2005.
The manga subsequently resumed in 2009 for another year, and went on hiatus again in 2010. It resumed again in 2013. The publisher published the twenty-first compiled volume in April 2019. Eventually, the work inspired an anime adaptation of 24 episodes produced by GONZO studios, under the direction of Takayuki Inagaki, released in 2004.
Sunabouzu Synopsis
The Great Kanto Desert, a sweltering wasteland with nothing but ruins and sand, is all that remains in post-apocalyptic Japan. The once fair population has now clung to the inhospitable dunes to survive. At least, that's the case with normal people. For those who have spent too long in the Kanto sun, the desert offers a wonderful opportunity to make a name for themselves.
One such person is the masked "Sunabouzu", who has built a legendary reputation for always finishing his errands, regardless of nature or cost. Cunning and ruthless, he has become a force of raw destruction to the other inhabitants of the desert. However, "the Desert Fox" Junko Asagiri, discovers Sunabouzu's weakness: he is easily manipulated by his insatiable lust for desert girls with large breasts.
