Animator Shiro Kudaka is sentenced to prison

The Tachikawa Division of the Tokyo District Court sentenced entertainer Shiro Kudaka to four months in prison for driving without a license, a violation of the local Traffic Law. Judge Hiroaki Kaize stated that the entertainer "showed little respect for the observance of the law" and, in fact, the prosecution was seeking to sentence him to a seven-month sentence.

According to the facts, Kudaka did not have a driver's license while driving a car in Kitanomachi, Hachioji city on June 20, 2020. At that time he was on a suspended sentence for another case. It should be noted that Kodaka is a prolific animator and animation director who has participated in franchises such as Naruto, Osomatsu-san, Lupine III, Pokémon and Yo-kai Watch.

It is worth noting that the Japanese portal J-Cast News reported last month that the animation studios Signal.MD were notified by the Federal Trade Commission of Japan, specifically on January 19, informing the company about its inability to adequately compensate Shiro Kudaka, who had been outsourced for a previous project in which the animator had participated. Thus, after initiating a procedure, Kudaka has been sentenced to prison.

In this regard, the animator commented on Twitter: «Everything will be fine! It is natural for the police to make their searches, send them to court, a trial is held and a sentence is handed down. When I get out of prison I will be working in the industry again, this time as "an entertainer who experienced the other side of bars." You don't have to see the bad side.
