This multimedia project started with a series of plays that started in the year 2017. Normally, the theater projects are based on an existing anime or manga, but with the Sabiiro no Armor project , the play started first. Artist Hagi subsequently began a manga adaptation in Monthly Comic Gene magazine in January 2019, and Kadokawa publisher released the second compiled volume in January 2020. Later, in May 2021, Kairi Shimotsuki launched a new manga titled Sabiiro. no Armor: Reimei ( Rusted Armors: Daybreak ).
Synopsis of Sabiiro no Armor
The project focuses on the relationship between Magoichi, the leader of the mercenary group Saika Ikki, and the Sengoku-era warlord, Oda Nobunaga. Taiki Sato of Fantastics from Exile Tribe will reprise the role of Magoichi from the play of the multimedia project for the anime. Voice actor Toshiki Masuda will also reprise his role as Oda Nobunaga in the play.
