A press release reported that the manga written and illustrated by Taku Kawamura , My Clueless First Friend ( Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru ), will have an anime adaptation. The statement revealed the voice cast and production team, and confirmed that the premiere is scheduled for sometime in 2023 in Japan.
Kawamura began publishing the manga through Square Enix 's Gangan Joker magazine in May 2018. Previously, the author had already written other works that have not been adapted to anime, such as Ryuunen! Todome-senpai and Kawaii Kouhai ni Iwasaretai.
