Dying in a
dungeon is usually the end of any hunter, but for Gongja Kim it's just the
beginning of her path to the top. To the delight of fans of action and fantasy
stories, the popular play SSS-Class Suicide Hunter (SSS-Class
Revival Hunter) officially confirmed that it will have an anime adaptation
for television, scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
The news
came accompanied by a first promotional image and a preview that showed the
tone of the series. The production will be in the hands of the STUDIO
fu studio, with the direction of Hiroaki Sakurai, known
for his work in The Demon Girl Next Door. For her part, Sayuri
Oba, who participated in Romantic Killer, will be in charge of
writing and supervising the scripts, while the character design will be carried
out by Takahiro Yoshimatsu, remembered for his work on the
classic Trigun.
As for the
main voice cast, it was confirmed that actor Takeo Otsuka will
lend his voice to protagonist Gongja Kim, while Satoshi Hino will
play the imposing Sword Emperor. With this team at the helm, the project seeks
to bring to the screen the frenetic evolution of its protagonist through the
dangerous floors of the tower.
Sobre
SSS-Class Suicide Hunter
Originally
born as a web novel written by Sinnoa in November 2018, the
story made the leap to the digital manhwa format with Neida's art
in December 2020. Since then, the work has been a huge success thanks to its
unique twist on the rook and hunter genre.
The plot
takes us to a world where a mysterious tower full of monsters appears out of
nowhere, attracting hunters willing to risk their lives for fame and fortune.
There we meet Gongja Kim, a weak F-rank hunter and envious of the number one
hunter in the world. His destiny changes drastically when he allies himself
with the Sword Emperor and obtains an extremely strange S-rank ability: to
activate it he must die, which allows him to go back in time and copy the
abilities of whoever killed him.
