On the official site for the anime adaptation of the novels written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by 029 , Hataraku Maou-sama! The Devil is a Part-Timer! ), a new promotional video for the third season of the project has been revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for next July 13 in Japan , and shows a snippet of the musical themes, which include:

  • nano.RIPE will perform the opening theme song " Hikari no Nai Machi (A City Without Lights)," while Liyuu will perform the ending theme song " Bloomin ."

Although the promotional video mentions " 2nd Season ", that is, the second season, it must be clarified that they refer to the " second season of the new anime ", titled " Hataraku Maou-sama!! ” (with two exclamation marks). It's like they started a new anime as a sequel, but looking at the 2011 series, then it's the third season.

The second season aired during the Summer-2022 season (July-September) and had a total of twelve episodes. Wagahara and 029 published the original light novels through Kadokawa 's Dengeki Bunko imprint between February 2011 and August 2020, with a total of twenty-one volumes. A manga adaptation by Akio Hiiragi has been published since February 2012.

Synopsis of Hataraku Maou-sama!

The Demon Lord Satan seeks to conquer the world of Ente Isla by annexing its four continents with the help of his generals Alciel, Lucifer, Malacoda, and Adramelech. After being confronted by the heroine Emilia and her companions, and seeing their generals Malacoda and Adramelech dead, Satan and Alciel escape the world through a portal into the city of Tokyo, Japan. However, due to the absence of magic in the new world, both Satan and Alciel change their forms to humans. To survive, Satan takes a part-time job at the "MgRonald" fast food restaurant, while Alciel takes care of the housework. One day, Satan (who now goes by the name Sadao Maou) meets Emi Yusa, who turns out to be the heroine Emilia.
