According to reports from fans who attended the first screenings of the film Seishun Buta Yarou wa Randoseru Girl no Yume wo Minai ( Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid), the franchise of Seishun Buta Yarou Series will continue with its anime adaptation. Although the information has not been officially confirmed, multiple sources have assured its veracity.

What continues is Volume 10 of the original light novels, which officially begins the “University Arc“, where Sakuta and his friends say goodbye to high school and finally become college students. However, it remains uncertain whether production will continue to be in film format or if we will finally be able to see the franchise return to television.

For his part, Hajime Kamoshida began publishing the light novels in April 2014 through the publisher Kadokawa. The literary franchise does not have numbered volumes, but each one bears the title of its own story arc, but maintaining the part of “Seishun Buta Yarou ( Rascal Does Not Dream)”, which gives its name to the franchise.

Sinopsis of Seishun Buta Yarou Series

One day, in the library where Sakuta Azusagawa studies, he comes across an unexpected sight: a beautiful high school girl dressed as a bunny. She turns out to be Mai Sakurajima, a famous former actress and fellow student at Minegahara High School. However, her surprise at seeing Mai dressed so daringly in the library is nothing compared to her surprise at realizing that he is the only one who can see her. Remembering an event from her past, Sakuta offers to help Mai discover the reason for her invisibility. Despite their initially troubled relationship, the two soon become close: Mai and Sakuta learn to appreciate each other and their friendship blossoms into a budding romance.

This further fuels his determination to solve Mai's dilemma. As the investigation progresses, Sakuta attributes Mai's situation to an urban legend known as Adolescence Syndrome: strange phenomena that occur in youth, unexplained by science and often dismissed as delusions. With few promising results, Mai's situation worsens to the point where going unnoticed is the least of her worries. Can Sakuta and Mai solve the mystery of her teenage syndrome before it disappears completely?
