A firefighter from Koshigaya City, Saitama
Prefecture in Japan ,
has been suspended from his position after allegedly appearing in pornographic
films (AV, or “Adult Video” in Japan). According to NHK, the
firefighter participated in at least five productions, for which he was paid
250,000 yen (about US$1,600).
The firefighter, 26 years old, held the position of
non-commissioned officer. He reportedly participated in firefighting
activities, but the Koshigaya Fire Station imposed a disciplinary sanction of
six months' suspension on the firefighter concerned.
The revelation followed an anonymous complaint
in early April via the inquiry form on the city's website (the
person who filed the complaint somehow recognized the subject). The fire chief,
upon learning of the firefighter's side job as a pornographic actor, expressed
concern about the damage caused to residents' trust. According to the
firefighter, he began participating in adult filming during his days off due to
financial difficulties, such as paying off a car loan.
The fire chief issued an official comment,
offering apologies for the public employee's behavior that has undermined the
trust of residents , and expressed his commitment to working
to quickly regain lost trust.
